This shall be a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. As a result, all SDVOSB's may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency. This project is classified under NAICS Code 238220 and has a size standard of $19 Million. The Magnitude of Construction for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Scope of Work: The scope of work shall generally consist of, but not limited to the following: The project involves upgrading the Hot Water Heater system (specifically Buildings 3, 7, 53, 54, and 143 and their associated mechanical and utility spaces). The existing domestic hot water heating systems at the Lyons VA Medical Center consist of aging tank type and semi-instantaneous water heaters and associated recirculation pumps that are inefficient, and beyond their intended service life. These units serve critical patient care, residential, and support areas and must be upgraded to meet current VA design standards, energy efficiency requirements, and plumbing and electrical codes while maintaining continuous hot water service to the occupied facility. The water heaters shall be replaced sequentially so that only one unit is taken out of service at a given time, and the others remain in full operation.
