INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 20 anticipates soliciting proposals and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price Construction Contract for the Roof Replacement at American Lake Facilities Maintenance Service at 9600 Veterans Dr.

SW Tacoma, WA 98493.

DESCRIPTION: The small flat roof above the laboratory storage rooms in Building 81 has experienced persistent leaks for several years.

Although multiple repairs have been attempted, including large applications of tar, the roof continues to fail.

The existing torch?down roof will be replaced with a TPO roofing system to provide a long?term solution.

The area includes six AC units that cool the laboratory below and must remain functional nearly year?round.

ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 12, 19, and 36 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation.

The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside.

Proposals received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered.

The applicable NAICS Code is 238160 with a size standard of $19 Million.
