What this contract is for

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 1232SA26Q0983 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Cleaning of Metal roof on Bldg -38 at Poplarville, MS. The requirement is to clean the existing standing seam metal roof on Building 38 at USDA ARS Southern Horticulture Research Unit in Poplarville, MS. The current roof is original to the building and was installed when the building was erected in 2005. Mold & mildew have appeared on some sections of roof panels. Spot test cleaning has revealed that a simple mold/mildew remover was effective at cleaning the roof. It is the objective of this project to clean the entire roof of this building and remove the unsightly buildup of mold & mildew. This acquisition is set-aside for small business concerns. The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 561790, Other Services to Buildings and Dwellings. The small business size standard is $9.0M dollars. This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
