What this contract is for

The work shall be in strict compliance with the SOW, the project specifications, and the project drawings. Sections of the SOW may supersede the requirements found in the specifications, in which case, the more stringent/higher quality requirements will apply. All work will be coordinated with Base Operations. A Macomb County Soil Erosion Permit will be required for this project. The Contractor shall obtain, pay for, and follow the requirements of this permit. The work will consist of Construction of new 2 and 3 lane roads. The requirement includes full-depth pavement repairs, mill/overlay, crack repairs, and work along the entire Perimeter Road and Jefferson Ave. All work will be completed IAW drawings Repair Perimeter Rd VGLZ 182035. Installation of subsurface edge drainage for all new pavement sections. Localized grading of the project site to address current inadequate drainage. New paint and markings on all new pavements. The Contractor must maintain a constant flow of traffic during construction. Base perimeter road surfacing to be primarily of HMA Pavement. Existing base perimeter road distance to be resurfaced unofficially is 4.2 miles of primarily two and three lane road, with Jefferson Ave from Main Gate to Wilbur Wright Blvd. being three lanes. Those three lanes make up one mile of the projects 4.2 total miles. Contractor to remove and reinstall steel wedge barriers and jersey barriers throughout construction per the direction of SANGB Security Staff. Steel barriers to be reinstalled at grade to match pre-construction condition.
