DESCRIPTION OF WORK The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New Orleans District, anticipates issuing a solicitation for the construction of a new Maintenance Building at the Algiers Lock in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. The project will consist of the construction of a fully functional maintenance facility to support lock operations and maintenance activities.The work consists of selective demolition, construction of a new metal maintenance building with cast-in-place concrete foundation, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems; structural excavation and fill; driving prestressed concrete piles; removal and replacement of asphaltic concrete pavement including subbase course and base course; fertilizing, seeding and mulching; ductile iron waterline; sanitary sewer; and other related incidental work.2. ACQUISITION INFORMATION This solicitation will be issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The resulting contract shall be firm fixed price (FFP).
