PRESOLICITATION NOTICE Project # 659-24-901 Repair Masonry Work for this project will be performed at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center located at 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury, NC. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including removal of existing masonry and mortar, and furnish labor and materials to perform work for VA project 659-24-901, Replace Masonry Structural Issues, which includes masonry maintenance and repair to the exterior walls for seven (7) campus buildings (Buildings 5, 6, 7, 11, 13, 19, and 21), with phased construction according to building groupings. Work includes brick repointing, masonry accessory replacements, lintel repairs, repainting, removal and replacement of existing wall-mounted items, expansion joint replacement, brick cleaning, sealant replacement, regrouting, precast and slate repair, and certain other work activities. All work occurs outside of occupied buildings. Therefore, safety and infection control measures are required during construction. The project includes deduct alternates, as required by drawings and specifications. Estimated construction duration is 270 days. The construction duration will be adjusted with the acceptance of bid alternates 1-5, 1 (255 days), 2 (240 days), 3 (220 days), 4 (195 days), 5 (180 days). Estimated construction magnitude is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
