DRY FORK BLACKFOOT EDNA SAMPLING The Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Montana State Office, is soliciting quotes for the retrieval of 79 eDNA samples from the Dry Fork basin.

Dry Fork is accessed via 6-mile hike from the Hobnail Tom Trailhead.

Targeted streams include mainstem Dry Fork, Cabin Cr, Dwight Cr, Canyon Cr, Conger Cr, and several unnamed drainages covering more than 25 stream miles.

Most streams are accessible by trail but some bushwhacking will be required.

Packstock will likely be required to get equipment to a base camp.

The contractor is also required to provide a brief summary report detailing trail conditions encountered, intermittent stream reaches, dry sampling locations, fish barriers, and any other pertinent information.

The BLM will have the samples processed as a separate action from this contract. eDNA sampling should be completed during relatively low-water conditions (i.e.

July 15th to November 1st).

This will ensure greater accuracy in eDNA results.

The project¿s location is within Lewis and Clark County, Montana.

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
