NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 8, intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract for Pneumatic Tube System Preventive Maintenance and Software Support Services to TransLogic Corporation, a Swisslog Healthcare company, for the existing TransLogic/Swisslog pneumatic tube system at the C.W.

Bill Young VA Medical Center, Bay Pines, Florida.

The anticipated contract will consist of a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods, with an anticipated award/effective date of September 30, 2026.

The Government has determined that TransLogic Corporation is the only responsible source capable of providing the required preventive maintenance and software support for the existing system.

The Bay Pines system incorporates TransLogic-specific hardware, system controls, and Nexus™ System Control Software.

Manufacturer documentation identifies TransLogic pneumatic tube hardware and integrated software as proprietary technology and states that only TransLogic Sales Representatives, Field Service Engineers, or designated employees are authorized to service, install, or upgrade TransLogic systems and components.

Bay Pines-specific documentation further establishes that Nexus™ is the TransLogic PTS system-control platform and that software maintenance provides access to software licensing, service packs, version releases, documented bug fixes, and technical support.

A separate Request for Quotation (RFQ), Solicitation 36C24826Q1247, will be posted for this requirement.

Although the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with TransLogic Corporation, all responsible sources may submit a quotation and/or capability statement in response to the RFQ by the stated response deadline.

All timely responses will be considered by the G...

Official solicitation and documents

The full solicitation, any attachments, and the actual submission instructions live on the official listing, not on this page. Oppward summarizes public record data; it does not host or mirror the source documents.

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
