Description of Proposed Work: The U.S.

Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Louisville District, anticipates issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for a firm-fixed-price construction contract to execute the Rough River Lake Axtel Wastewater Treatment Plant Replacement.

The overall scope of work comprises the complete demolition and decommissioning of the existing wastewater treatment plant and the construction of a new replacement subsurface sewage treatment and dispersal facility.

Primary features of work include, but are not limited to:Demolition and Removal: Demolition and disposal of the existing Axtel Wastewater Treatment Plant, existing chain-link perimeter fencing, and gravel surfacing.Treatment and Disposal System Construction: Construction and installation of a new subsurface wastewater treatment and disposal system, including: Precast concrete primary pretreatment septic tanks conforming to ASTM C1227 and 902 KAR 10:081/085.

Precast sewage lift stations, dose stations, and holding tanks.

Packaged Aerobic Treatment Unit (ATU) / Advanced Wastewater Treatment System.

Soil drip dispersal field and piping network.Piping and Distribution: Installation of gravity sewer piping and pressure piping networks, including supply/return manifolds, flush valves, and air release/vacuum breaker valves.Electrical and Control Systems: Complete electrical service and distribution, including coordination with Meade County RECC for service drop/upgrades, NEMA 4X (316 stainless steel) control enclosures, UL 1449 Type 2 Surge Protective Devices (TVSS), sequencing reactor controls, alarm systems, and associated conduits.Site and Civil Appurtenances: Rough and finish grading, trenching, erosion and sediment control measures, replacement chain-link perimeter security fence and gates with privacy sl...
