What this contract is for

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A BRAND NAME SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT NAVSUP Fleet Logistics San Diego (FLCSD) intends to award a Sole Source contract to EATON Corporation, San Diego, CA 92111 to procure three (3) 11LSIG/LSIA DIGITRIP 1150i Trip Units to be installed on the Eaton Magnum and Magnum DS circuit breakers onboard USS AMERICA (LHA 6). FLCSD will use Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition. The authority for soliciting a single source under simplified acquisition procedures is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Soliciting Competition, which states that contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization). The proposed contract action is Sole Source only. In accordance with FAR 5.102, the required justification documentation is attached (See Note 22). This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotation. No solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit product information in response to this notice by 9 am 30JAN2017 PST via email to [email protected]. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely at the discretion of the Government. NOTE 22: The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.
