What this contract is for

The Government has a requirement for flood repairs in Galena IL. The work includes, but is not limited to : The Galena 2024 Event PL84-99 Flood Repairs Project (“Project”) consists of storm sewer repairs at the following locations: the intersection of Green and Water Street (Repair Area 1) and a section around the intersection of Hill and Water Street (Repair Area 2). Work is expected to be conducted on public roads and on city sewer easements. For Repair Area 1, sewer work consists of constructing a new manhole at an existing intersection of the pressurized sewer line and the City-owned 30” storm sewer line. For Repair Area 2, sewer work consists of a connection between the City-owned structure MH-86 and the Corps-owned structure MH-89. The connection will be installed with a new 24” reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) storm main. The material of MH-86 is a brick structure and will need to be removed and replaced with a standard concrete manhole. At both Repair Areas, the Corps-owned pressurized storm line will be abandoned and filled with grout from the headwall to the new work at the Repair Areas. We will also be removing the two damaged headwalls. Construction is proposed to be completed during the 2026 construction season.
