What this contract is for

SPLIT RAIL FENCING SUPPLY ORDER - MISP The National Park Service, Region 2, South Atlantic Gulf, intends to award a Firm Fixed price contract for supply purchase of Eastern Red Cedar Split Rails for Mill Springs Battlefield National Monument located in Nancy, KY. The scope of This project addresses deferred maintenance and enhances the historic character of Mill Springs Battlefield National Monument by replacing approximately 2,100 linear feet of deteriorated split rail fencing within the park boundary. Existing fencing has exceeded its useful service life and no longer reflects the historic cultural landscape associated with the Civil War battlefield. The current requirement is a continuation of that work to extend the same fencing. The incumbent contractor is the only known source capable of providing fencing that precisely matches the existing installation, including materials, dimensions, finish, hardware, and appearance. Additionally, it is in the best interest of the Government to stay with the original vendor to ensure exact continuity with the already installed product. Procuring from another source would introduce discrepancies and risk compatibility with existing section of the split rail fencing. It is the only source that can provide the materials required for this completion of this project. NAICS Code: 321113, Sawmills , Standard business size is 550 Employees. The National Park Service is presently using SAM to issue synopsis for Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source Justifications and Sources Sought. The synopsis may be viewed online at: https://beta.sam.gov. SAM will be the only means of obtaining the amendments and will be able to receive electronic notification of solicitations and awards. CAUTION: This synopsis will be issued electronically as will a...

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
