What this contract is for

Please note this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. The Embassy of the United States in Rome, Italy will launch the solicitation on the SAM.gov website when it is available. The solicitation covers the replacement of the main chiller at the U.S. Consulate General in Naples, Italy. The Contractor shall furnish labor, materials, and equipment to perform the work as required in the contract. This project is estimated between $250,000 and $500,000. In accordance with the RFO revisions to FAR Part 12, this requirement is being conducted as a commercial-construction acquisition, as the work involves the installation and alteration of mechanical equipment within an existing facility and meets the definition of a commercial service. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered. The lowest price technically acceptable (LPTA) source selection criteria will be used for this requirement. The Government may award the contract based on the initial offer without discussion. The resultant contract will be a firm-fixed price contract. The Government is planning a pre-proposal conference and a site visit and the date for this conference and survey will be in the solicitation. All contractors must be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) Database https://www.sam.gov prior to submitting an offer pursuant to FAR provision 52.204-7. Therefore, prospective offerors are encouraged to register prior to the submittal of proposal.
