Scope
The City of Chesapeake Department of Public Utilities is seeking proposals from consulting engineering firms who wish to be considered to provide professional engineering, project management, inspection services, and business analysis services on an annual basis for the design of various water and sanitary sewer projects on an as-needed basis . It is anticipated that five (5) or more contracts will be awarded under the procurement process to cover the requested services. The successful firm ( s ) will be required to execute a standard city ar chitect-engineer contract (see A ttachment A ). In the event this contract is awarded to multiple consultants, task orders will be distributed based on factors other than solely price, such as availability, expertise , and experience. Work under these contracts for specific projects will be managed by task orders executed between the City and selected consultants. Firms are not required to provide all the services listed in the RFP. It is the City’s intent to award multiple contracts so task orders may be negotiated with the firm best suited to provide that specific service.

How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
