WIC Vendor New Authorization or Add a Location
Mississippi Department of Health - Central WIC Jackson, MS
- Status Closes in 1031 days
- Amount Amount not listed
- Set-aside None (open competition)
Scope
The request for applications is for eligible grocery stores and pharmacies seeking initial authorization to participate as WIC vendors. This includes current vendors seeking to add a location to their existing vendor agreement. The WIC State Agency is responsible for authorizing all vendor types. Applicants must submit a complete WIC Vendor Application, all required supporting documentation, and meet applicable vendor selection and authorization criteria. Applications will be evaluated for compliance with vendor selection, business viability, minimum inventory, and competitive price criteria. These requirements help ensure that authorized vendors can adequately serve WIC participants and support anticipated WIC redemption activity. Application results will be provided within 90 days of receipt of a completed application. Submission of an application does not guarantee authorization. Approved applicants must complete all remaining requirements for authorization and will be presented with a WIC Vendor Agreement. The agreement must be completed and signed before the vendor may begin accepting WIC benefits. Authorization becomes effective on the start date specified in the agreement. Once authorized, vendors must continue to meet all applicable WIC Program requirements and vendor selection criteria throughout the agreement period. No location may redeem WIC benefits until authorization requirements are completed and authorization becomes effective.

How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
