  • Status Closes in 14 days
  • Amount Amount not listed
  • Set-aside None (open competition)

Scope

This project, titled Sycamore Shelter Reconstruction,’ shall include, but is not limited to, all labor, materials, equipment, permits, coordination, testing, and incidental work necessary to reconstruct the historic Sycamore Shelter, located in Bloomington, Indiana at Lower Cascades Park. A large tree fell onto the historic Sycamore Shelter in May 2026, completely destroying the southern section of the structure. The shelter is constructed primarily of Indiana Limestone and is an important historic feature of Bloomington’s first public park. This project will reconstruct the destroyed southern section of the Sycamore Shelter in its original location and will be based on available historic documentation that will follow the design plans and specifications. The intent of the project is to restore the Sycamore Shelter to its pre-damage appearance while preserving the remaining historic fabric and ensuring the new portion is consistent with the original structure and the applicable standards for historic reconstruction.

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
