Scope
The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Non-Expendable Equipment National Program has identified the Microscope: Spine product line as a candidate for a VA-wide (otherwise referred to as “national”) single Requirements contract award.
The microscope provides a stable, maneuverable platform with motorized zoom and focus, long working?distance lenses, and high?intensity illumination suitable for deep spinal corridors.
It supports hybrid optical/digital viewing, allowing the surgeon to operate through traditional eyepieces or external large?format 3D monitors.
Integrated imaging capabilities provide 4K or higher?resolution video and still capture for clinical documentation, teaching, and intraoperative collaboration.
Systems of this type include fluorescence visualization options (e.g., ICG (indocyanine green)?based vascular assessment), navigation data overlays, assistant viewing optics, and compatibility with surgical navigation platforms.
The microscope is mounted on a mobile, counterbalanced stand or arm designed for smooth, low?effort repositioning during procedures.
It includes OR?ready connectivity (HDMI/SDI), DICOM/PACS export options, and supports wireless data functions depending on configuration.
This equipment is used in neurosurgery, orthopedic spine surgery, and related specialties requiring precise micro visualization during complex spinal procedures.
The Contractor must demonstrate the ability to meet all requirements for the solicitation.
The objective is to provide Microscope: Spine throughout the VA medical centers and facilities located in the Continental United States (CONUS) or Outside of the Continental United states (OCONUS).
The period of performance is for a base of 12-months with four 12-month option periods.

How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
