- Status Closes in 2 days
- Amount Amount not listed
- Set-aside None (open competition)
Scope
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to United States Welding, Inc. (doing business as Rocky Mountain Air Solutions), for the weekly delivery of liquid nitrogen and carbon dioxide (CO2) to the CDC Fort Collins facility.
The product/service the Government is seeking is essential for maintaining the integrity and viability of samples, which require cryogenic storage at temperatures of -140°C.
The cryogenic refrigeration necessary for our materials is uniquely provided by liquid nitrogen and CO2 gases.
Other refrigeration methods do not achieve the ultra-low temperatures required to preserve these sensitive samples, making them unsuitable for the Government needs.
The nature of the work demands just-in-time delivery to ensure that the cryo freezers remain operational.
Local suppliers are essential to meet these urgent delivery requirements.
This contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Revolutionary FAR Overhaul 12.102, 41 USC 1901, Unusual urgency.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received by the response date listed in this notice, shall be considered by the government.
A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
Any quotation/response should be emailed to the Ann Bonis, Contracting Officer at [email protected] by Friday November 6, 2026, 4:00 pm ET.

How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
