Scope

The Commander Fleet Readiness Center (COMFRC) hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Campbell Grinder Co., 1226 E.

Pontaluna Rd, Spring Lake, MI 49456 (Cage Code: 18278) on a sole source basis.

In accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(2), only one source is reasonably available, and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

FRC South West, NAS North Island has a requirement for necessary supplies and services to perform annual preventative maintenance (PM), evaluation, and repair for three (3) Government owned Campbell VTG Computer Numeric Control (CNC) grinding machines located at the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW).

Campbell Grinder Co. does not authorize third-party field technicians and handles all maintenance, parts, and repairs entirely in-house.

They deploy their own certified Local and Regional Service Technicians with proprietary knowledge directly to facilities for on-site PM, alignments, diagnostics, and repairs.

Any government requirement for certified OEM maintenance or proprietary parts installation typically establishes a strong justification for a Sole Source Determination under FAR Part 13.5 or FAR 6.302-1 (Only One Responsible Source).

For this reason, the Government intends to procure this PM, evaluation, and repair on a sole source basis from Campbell Grinder Co. (Cage: 18278).

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.

However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within three (3) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered.

Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement without impacting the requi...

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
