Scope

The purpose of this solicitation is to contract with a pool of vendors to provide all labor, equipment and materials for on-call and scheduled fire and police garage door systems, other garage door systems, gates and concession door repair and door maintenance services citywide. The service involves primarily overhead sectional and roll-up door systems, but may include other types of doors and/or related accessories. The City would call the contractor when needed. The estimated number of doors and gates is 170 and includes approximately 60 gates and 50 concession doors. The City of Seattle has held contracts for these services with Highland Arms Enterprises Inc (contract 3591) and Specialty Door Service Inc (contract 3705) that were a result of Invitation to Bid CTY-3591 conducted in 2017. These contracts have expired. The total usage of the contracts was approximately $800,000 annually. Primary departments that utilize these contracts are the Facilities Operations Division of Finance and Administration Services (FAS) and Seattle Public Utilities (SPU). All city departments may use contracts resulting from this solicitation. How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
