Scope

Amendment 0002 The purpose of this amendment is to extend the respose period for this opportunity and to provide the following responses to Industry questions.

Question 1: The combined synopsis identifies “Robline (Ocean) STS” 8 mm rope as part 7155408.

Robline’s published catalog lists 7152800 for the 8 mm Ocean STS (Dyneema) variant and 7155408 for the 8 mm Robtec STS (HMPE) variant; both show 9,430 daN breaking load and about 47 g/m linear density.

Answer 1: The required part number is 7155408.

The number listed below (7152800) is an old part number and is now obsolete.

Question 2: Please confirm whether the required product is the Robtec STS 7155408 or Ocean STS 7152800, and which product name must appear on the manufacturer CoC and test reports.

The notice also specifies elongation no greater than 0.19% at 94.3 kN, which is the stated breaking-strength threshold.

Please confirm the intended test load and method for that elongation figure so we can obtain matching certified data.

Answer 2: The specified elongation no greater than 0.19% at 94.3 kN corresponds to the ultimate breaking strength.

Elongation is measured at the point of failure during a standard "pull to break" (destructive) test.

The manufacturer's standard destructive testing method (measuring elongation at the ultimate breaking strength threshold) is fully acceptable to the Government.

Amendment 0001 The purpose of this amendment to is to provide the following response to Industry question: Question 1: Please confirm the intended elongation test requirement and test load for Robline P/N 7155408.

The solicitation states elongation ?0.1% at 94.3 kN, while 94.3 kN is the published average breaking-load value.

Please advise the acceptable manufacturer test method and documentation required for technical acceptability.

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
