Shoulder Innovation System
DEPT OF DEFENSE Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA
- Status Closes today
- Amount Amount not listed
- Set-aside 8(a) Sole Source (FAR 19.8)
Scope
The Department of Orthopedic Surgery requests to procure the shoulder innovation system in order to treat an emergency procedure.
This patient requires this implant system due to the patients anatomy and injury pattern.
The patient has a proximal humerus fracture and is indicated for reverse shoulder arthroplasty.
The patient has a very small glenoid as well as moderate superior inclination.
This system offers a lower profile glenoid baseplate as well as providing a mechanism for surgical planning and correction of the deformity.
Because these are proprietary components distributed exclusively by the OEM, there is no reasonable expectation of receiving quotes from two (2) or more small businesses.
Accordingly, the proposed acquisition strategy is to execute this procurement on a sole-source basis under the authority of Other Than Full and Open Competition.

How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
