Land Acquisition 2025

California - Wildlife Conservation Board CA

  • Status Open, no deadline listed
  • Amount Amount not listed
  • Set-aside None (open competition)

Scope

Eligible applicants: Nonprofit; Public Agency; Tribal Government.

Estimated available funds: $100,000,000.00.

All acquisitions are made on a "willing seller" basis pursuant to a fair market value appraisal as approved by the Department of General Services (DGS).

The acquisition activities are carried out in conjunction with the CDFW, which generally entails CDFW evaluating the biological values of property through development of a Full WCB Real Property Acquisition Application.

Once these evaluations are completed, they are submitted to CDFW’s Director for review and approval and then sent to the WCB with a recommendation to fund.

Typically this process can take anywhere from 6 to 12 months.

Concurrent to this the WCB regularly meets with CDFW to help evaluate and set acquisition priorities as new opportunities present themselves.

How to apply for this

This is a grant, not a contract. You are not submitting a priced bid against competitors; you are applying for funding against the eligibility rules the grant program sets. Read the eligibility requirements on the official listing closely before you spend time on an application, since grants are commonly restricted to specific kinds of organizations (state or local governments, universities, nonprofits) rather than open to any small business.

  1. Confirm your organization is actually eligible before applying. Eligibility is stated on the official listing linked above.
  2. Read the full notice of funding opportunity, including the application requirements and any required forms.
  3. Prepare and submit your application through the method the official listing describes, before the deadline.
