Scope

Solicitation 73-RFP-00775.

The purpose of this request for proposal is to solicit responses from vendors who can provide Dining Services for Western Carolina University(“University” or “WCU”).

The current vendor is Aramark, Inc. and the contract ends June 30, 2027, so the University will be awarding a new contract with the potential of a ten (10) year agreement.

WCU’s main campus sits in Cullowhee, North Carolina, near the Great Smoky and Blue Ridge mountains, fifty-two miles west of Asheville.

The location in the rural mountains amidst incredible biodiversity and unique communities creates an opportunity for academic discovery service.

The campus covers approximately 600 acres.

One of 17 institutions in the University of North Carolina System, WCU offers a powerful academic experience to stimulate creative inquiry and critical thinking and a community rich in diversity, inclusion, and global perspectives.

Just under 19,000 students attend WCU.

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
