Underwater Submersible Sonar
Iredell County - Sheriff Office Statesville, NC
- Status Closes in 6 days

- Set-aside None (open competition)
Scope
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office is looking to acquire an Underwater Submersible Sonar to aid our personnel and other agencies with search and rescue operations in the area we serve. A portable, towed side-scan sonar system of the type described in the specification would provide Iredell County with a dedicated underwater search, detection, and mapping capability that could significantly strengthen public-safety operations, particularly on Lake Norman and the County's other waterways. This capability is particularly relevant to Iredell County because the County has approximately 520 miles of Lake Norman shoreline, and Lake Norman represents the County's largest water feature and an important recreational and natural resource. Iredell County also maintains water-safety resources at multiple Lake Norman access locations. Acquisition of a portable side-scan sonar system would enhance Iredell County's ability to conduct rapid, systematic, and safer underwater search and recovery operations throughout Lake Norman and other County waterways. The system would provide a shared technical resource for law enforcement, fire/rescue, EMS, Emergency Management, and other authorized County response agencies, while also supporting underwater investigations, infrastructure inspection, environmental assessment, responder training, and mutual-aid operations. Given Iredell County's extensive Lake Norman shoreline and significant water-related public-safety responsibilities, the equipment would provide a versatile, reusable County asset that improves local response capability and reduces reliance on outside specialized resources.

How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
