Scope

The City of New Smyrna Beach (City) is requesting Qualifications from qualified vendors for insurance consultant services. Currently, the City of New Smyrna Beach belongs to a self-insured pool and is not an independently self-insured entity. The pool purchases insurance and the pool has self-insured retention. The annual invoice is billed solely to the City and deductibles will be paid per claim. The City intends to select a qualified firm to provide professional Insurance Consultant Services. The selected consultant will: Review the City's allocation of insurance assets, premiums, and coverage needs. Assist with the development and administration of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the City's liability and related insurance coverages. Evaluate the proposals received and provide a recommendation for award to the City. Provide recommendations and feedback on prior allocations prior to the development of the RFP. Develop an insurance premium allocation on an annual basis. The City reserves the right to award a contract to the firm determined to be in the best interest of the City. Respondents warrant that the terms and conditions quoted in the Qualifications will be firm for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of the Qualifications opening unless otherwise stated by the City. Incomplete, unresponsive, vague, ambiguous responses to the request for Qualifications will be just cause for rejection as determined by the City. The successful proposer(s) will hereinafter be referred to as "Professional Consultant".

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
