What this contract is for

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Pittsburgh District, has a project to provide new steel upper machinery housings for the Gantry Crane hoists at Conemaugh Lake. Construction includes removal of existing housing to floor line, fabrication and installation of new housing (steel fabrication), removal of portions of steel diamond plate flooring and replacement with open grating, installation of floor hatches for access by personnel and access to the limit switches and replacement of electrical conduit, wiring and lighting. The upper machinery houses for the main hoists on the Gantry Cranes at Conemaugh Dam are extensively corroded and exhibit heavy loss on the housing steel (supports and steel plate cladding). The deterioration of the housing is allowing water to affect the hoist electrical and mechanical equipment. The flooring and access hatches are obsolete and allow vermin to habit within the housing which causes impacts to access the limit switches. The North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) is 237990 ? Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. The Small Business Size Standard is $45,000,000.00. This procurement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. All interested and capable Bidders are encouraged to Bid. Any resultant award will be for one (1) Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Contract. All responsible Bidders are encouraged to submit a Bid. The Period of Performance (POP) is 540 Calendar Days after written Notice to Proceed (NTP). How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
