INTRODUCTION: The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River, MD announces its requirement to procure production-representative, flight-certified hardware to transition the AN/ALE-47 Common Carriage (CC) Countermeasures Dispensing System from the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase into rate production.

This modernization program replaces the legacy AN/ALE-47 round-magazine dispenser system with a modernized, square-magazine architecture.

This allows the Navy to deploy standard 1"x1"x8" square expendable countermeasures, expanding aircraft magazine capacity from 30 to 48 rounds and aligning joint logistics with the USAF, US Army, and F-35 platforms.

The contract will cover the manufacture, testing, and delivery of the following Weapon Replaceable Assemblies (WRAs) and associated Support Equipment: SA-2669A/ALE-47(V) Common Carriage Sequencer: Modernized electronic control unit with upgraded processing, firmware loading capabilities, and increased memory to support the legacy dispenser, as well as next-generation intelligent expendables.

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
