What this contract is for
The project entails roadway and pathway improvements intended to accommodate cyclists and pedestrians in an area congested with vehicle traffic. The project includes construction of a new paved bike path along the perimeter of the West Bluff Trailhead parking area and improvements to Long Avenue to accommodate an uphill bike lane. The project will construct a vehicle turnaround at the north/west terminus of the West Bluff Trailhead parking area to facilitate vehicle movements and relieve traffic congestion. Approximately 1,100¿ of new bike path will be constructed adjacent to the trailhead parking area. Several small retaining walls will be built to make room for the new path at the toe of the hillside. Existing light poles and electrical vehicle charging stations will be relocated to accommodate the bike path improvements. Long Avenue is approximately 1,200¿ in length and consists of two (2) travel lanes and no shoulders. Where existing roadway bench is sufficient, the project will widen the roadway to accommodate an uphill bike lane. Guardrails and chain-link fencing will be replaced along the roadway shoulder. An historic masonry drainage ditch along the roadway shoulder will be reconstructed. The intersection of Long Avenue and Marine Drive and adjacent ¿plaza¿ area behind the Warming Hut and neighboring buildings will be reconstructed to accommodate the bike path, gated access for administrative vehicles, and pedestrian safety improvements.

How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
