Sports and Recreation Tourism Strategic Study
Richland County - Administration Columbia, SC
- Status Closes in 15 days
- Amount Amount not listed
- Set-aside None (open competition)
Scope
Richland County is seeking qualified firms to conduct a Sports and Recreation Tourism Strategic Study to better understand the County’s potential to attract, develop, and capitalize on sports, indoor/outdoor recreation, and leisure tourism as drivers of economic development. The study will provide the County with data, market intelligence, and strategic recommendations to guide investment, destination development, business recruitment, event attraction, infrastructure planning, and support for existing local businesses. The study should evaluate Richland County’s competitive position within the Midlands, broader South Carolina, and regional tourism market, identify opportunities to increase visitor spending and length of stay, and establish strategies for leveraging the County’s existing recreational assets, parks, trails, waterways, athletic facilities, events, businesses, and natural resources. The study should also consider connections to regional destinations and assets where those relationships influence tourism visitation, visitor spending, or the County’s ability to attract sports and recreation-related investment, as well as evaluate emerging trends in the sports and recreation tourism industry.

How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
