What this contract is for

The Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking the services of a qualified construction company to provide all labor, material, transportation, equipment, and qualified supervision required for the following project: Correct Fire (Life) Safety Issues (Construction). Located at: Hampton VA Medical Center, Hampton, 100 Emancipation Dr, Hampton, VA 23667 In general, the contractor shall provide, but not limited to, all tools, labor, materials, equipment, supervision, professional services, and expertise required to perform general construction, alterations, site work, select demolition, hauling, disposal, electrical work, relocation of existing utilities in order to accomplish the project goals of correcting fire life safety issues at various buildings both on and off campus. Issues include but are not limited to new hand rails, new fire egress stairs, new exterior stair coverings, guard rails, stair wells, sidewalks, stair well coverings, doors, fire extinguishers, fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and wall modifications as delineated in the project construction documents. The work shall be performed in strict accordance with construction drawings and specifications prepared by Department of Veterans Affairs. The contractor shall manage and perform all work as further defined in the contract to include, but not limited to, permitting, demolition, construction, construction management, submittals, equipment, scheduling, inspection and testing, environmental protection, recording of (As-Built) drawings and project closeout.
