What this contract is for
The project consists of construction services to remove and replace an existing laboratory tabletop fume hood and associated rooftop exhaust fan located in Building 2, Room 1330 at the NIST Boulder Campus. Work will include demolition and replacement of existing countertops, sink, base cabinetry, plumbing connections, and associated architectural finishes. Mechanical work includes removal of the existing fume hood, ductwork, and rooftop exhaust fan and installation of a new walk-in fume hood, hazardous exhaust fan, exhaust stack, and duct connections. Electrical work includes removal and installation of circuits serving the fume hood and exhaust fan, installation of cable tray and dedicated receptacles for laboratory equipment, reconnection of lightning protection systems, and bonding of the hood and exhaust system. Plumbing work includes reconnecting existing piping to a new sink and eyewash station. Fire alarm work includes installation of a supervised fume hood panic alarm system connected to the building fire alarm panel. The contractor will also provide structural design and installation of exhaust fan stack supports, perform ASHRAE 110 performance testing of the hood and exhaust system, and coordinate construction activities with NIST personnel.
