Army Contracting Command–Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) plans to exercise Revolutionary Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Overhaul (RFO) clause 52.217-9, Option to Extend the Term of the Contract, for contract W56HZV-21-D-0018 with BAE Systems Land & Armaments, L.P. of Sterling Heights, MI.
The current contract ordering period ends 6 Jan 2027.
ACC-DTA intends to exercise a six-month option in its entirety, with a period of performance from 7 Jan 2027 through 6 Jul 2027.
Contract W56HZV-21-D-0018 provides for critical System Technical Support, Post-Production System Support, and Sustainment System Technical Support services for the AMPV and M113 Families of Vehicles for development of changes to existing products, production activities, and the sustainment phase of the systems’ acquisition life cycles.
These services also include engineering, logistics, and field support.
This action will allow for the continuation of critical services to be provided for the vehicles managed by Project Manager Mounted Armored Vehicles.
This procurement will be restricted to BAE Systems Land & Armaments, LP of Sterling Heights, MI, under Title 10 United States Code 3204(a)(1), as implemented by RFO FAR 6.103-1(c)(2)(ii), “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.” BAE Systems is the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the AMPV and M113 FOVs and complete TDPs are not available for competition.
All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which will be considered by ACC-DTA.
Since the Government intends to exercise RFO FAR 52.217-9 on the existing contract, a separate solicitation is not available.

Official solicitation and documents
The full solicitation, any attachments, and the actual submission instructions live on the official listing, not on this page. Oppward summarizes public record data; it does not host or mirror the source documents.
Oppward is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by SAM.gov or any government agency. This page is a plain-English summary of public record data; the linked source above is the authoritative listing.
How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
