Requirement: The United States (U.S.) Army Contracting Command- Rock Island at Picatinny(ACC-RI-Pica) on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems (PM CAS) both located at Picatinny Arsenal, ACC is conducting market research to identify potential sources within the National Technology Industrial Base , capable of manufacturing and delivering the 155mm Artillery Cannister Assembly (hereafter referred to as “Cannister Assembly”).

The Cannister Assembly is made from four components: Payload Canister (4140 steel), Payload Cover (7075 T6 aluminum) Clocking Keys 1 Clocking Keys 2 (AISI S2 tool steel or S7 as alternate).

The purpose of this market survey is to obtain potential sources in addition to current producers to deliver Cannister Assemblies at a rate of no less than 450 cannisters per year by October 2027, no less than 1,000 cannisters per year by March 2028, and no less than 10,000 canisters per year by January 2031.

Payload Canister -The cannister (SK02662) is approximately 17 inches in length and 5 inches in diameter, requires a smooth surface finish free of any burrs, and a protective coating against environmental corrosion.

The cannister shall be subject to dimensional quality controls to ensure proper form, fit, and function.

The cannister must be produced from a 4140 steel, with a final hardness of 47 HRC.
