The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Office of Purchasing and Contracts, on behalf of the Department of Transfusion Medicine (DTM), intends to award a firm-fixed-price order on a sole-source basis to Rees Scientific, 1007 Whitehead Road Extension, Trenton, NJ 08638.

The purpose of this acquisition is to procure and install environmental monitoring probes and transmitters for the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) section within the NIH Clinical Center, Department of Transfusion Medicine.

The equipment is required to correct environmental monitoring deficiencies identified during a recent Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) inspection and to ensure continued compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

The Department of Transfusion Medicine currently utilizes a proprietary Rees Scientific environmental monitoring system to monitor critical environmental conditions, including room temperature, humidity, refrigerators, and freezers.

Rees Scientific is the sole-source provider of the compatible probes and transmitters required to expand the existing system.

The required probes, transmitters, and associated installation must be fully compatible with the existing Rees Scientific proprietary environmental monitoring system.

These instruments are used to monitor regulated laboratory spaces supporting patient care, blood product manufacturing, and clinical laboratory diagnostic activities.

Proper environmental monitoring is essential to maintaining the safety, quality, and integrity of these operations.

The Government has determined that Rees Scientific is uniquely qualified to provide the required proprietary equipment and installation.

Official solicitation and documents

The full solicitation, any attachments, and the actual submission instructions live on the official listing, not on this page. Oppward summarizes public record data; it does not host or mirror the source documents.

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
