NOTICE OF INTENT This is a notice of intent to solicit from a single source.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) intends to award a purchase order to Innovasea Marine Systems Canada Inc. in Bedford, Nova Scotia, for 20 each of Acoustic Release Receivers with the following Salient Characteristics: 20 Units ¿ Innovasea NexTrak Acoustic Release Receivers (69 kHz) ¿ 69 kHz underwater acoustic receiver/transponder system. ¿ Capable of detecting and processing 69 kHz acoustic signals. ¿ Suitable for underwater/marine deployment and scientific research. ¿ Compatible with existing Government 69 kHz acoustic transponders and release equipment. ¿ Complete, operational units with standard required components.

1 Unit ¿ VHTx-69 kHz Transponding Hydrophone ¿ 69 kHz transponding hydrophone for underwater acoustic applications. ¿ Compatible with Innovasea VR100 or equal acoustic receiver. ¿ Includes a minimum 25-meter waterproof cable. ¿ Suitable for underwater deployment and scientific research.

Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items.

Innovasea Marine Systems Canada Inc. is, to the knowledge of the USGS, the only source who can provide this proprietary equipment that is compatible with existing systems.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes.

However, all responsible parties may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency.

No solicitation will be issued.

A determination not to compete with this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government.

The NAICS code 334220, Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing, and PSC 5845, Underwater Sound Equipment, apply to this announcement.
