The Navajo Area Indian Health Service, Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility intends to award a non-competitive, sole sourced purchase order to Cepheid to provide a microbiology analyzer, and reagent supplies to be ordered on as needed basis.

The period of performance will consist of 1 one-year base period plus 4 one-year option periods.” The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 325413 - In-Vitro Diagnostic Substance Manufacturing with a small business size standard of 1,250 employees.

The Proposed Contractor, Cepheid, is the only organization uniquely qualified to provide the required services to ensure that there is no interruption in services that could impact direct patient care.

After thorough Market Research, there is no reasonable expectation of obtaining offers that will be competitive in terms of market price, quality, and delivery from two or more reasonable Small Businesses and two or more reasonable IEE and ISBEE vendors.

The Government issued a Sources Sought Notice from April 7, 2026, to April 21, 2026, and no vendors responded.

Thereby proving Cepheid is the one and only source to provide a microbiology analyzer and reagent supplies.

This notice of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive proposals.

There will be no solicitation available for competitive quotes.

Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
