INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE – 36C26326Q1072 – DESCRIPTION AND INSTRUCTIONS Department of Veterans Affairs intends to issue a sole source award to Abbott Labatories, INC . for Service and Technology Maintenance.

This award will be a purchase order for the equipment and under FAR Part 12 of the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations.

The Government will consider responses received by the closing date of this notice.

Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a full and open competitive acquisition or a small business set-aside competitive acquisition.

The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this announcement.

If the Government decides to compete this requirement in the open market, a synopsis shall be issued utilizing the combined synopsis/solicitation procedure identified in FAR 12 of the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul.

A determination to not compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

Description of the Requirement: This procurement provides annual Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) service, maintenance, repairs, and technology upgrades for the Abbott electrophysiology systems used at the Iowa City VA Health Care System.

Coverage includes the EnSite X cardiac mapping system, Ampere generator, Cool Point pump, TactiSys Quartz, ViewMate Multi ultrasound system, ICE ultrasound probes, EP?4 cardiac stimulator, and Workmate Claris system, along with all associated peripherals.
