What this contract is for

Please note this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. The Embassy of the United States in Barbados will launch the solicitation on the SAM.gov website when it is available. The Embassy of the United States in Barbados requires janitorial services. The anticipated performance period is for base year, with four one-year option periods, if exercised by the government. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which will be considered. The Government may award the contract based on the initial offers without discussion. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price type contract. Notwithstanding FAR 4.203-1(b)(5)(ii), the Contracting Officer has determined that it is in the best interest of the U.S. Government that offerors be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) database at https://www.sam.gov and have an active SAM account at the time of submitting a proposal. Failure to be registered at time of proposal submission shall deem the offeror’s proposal to be considered non-responsive to the solicitation instructions and no further consideration will be given. Therefore, qualified offerors are highly encouraged to register immediately if they are interested in submitting a response to this contracting opportunity. This opportunity is subject to 52.229-12 - Tax on Certain Foreign Procurements (FEB 2021).

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
