What this contract is for
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk, Contracting Department, Norfolk, VA 23511, intends to solicit and award a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) sole-source contract for Caterpillar 3126 diesel engines with specialized configurations to Puckett Machinery Company (CAGE: 1JX26) using the policies and procedures of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12. This notice is not a request for proposals or quotations; however, any challenges to this sole-source must be received in writing and sent to [email protected] to be considered by the Government for the purpose of determining whether or not to compete the requirement. Challenges must include sufficient information to enable the Government to make a determination that an equivalent supply exists which would meet the Government's needs as stated therein. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See the attached sole-source justification for additional information regarding the Government's decision to limit competition.

How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
