What this contract is for
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract for EATON Valve Plugs (P/N M-109 NSN 4730-01-190-9157) for the National Logistics Support Center in Grandview, MO. The Government intends to make an award to the responsive responsible quoter providing the best value in accordance with FAR 12.203(c)(2). This is a brand name requirement. Brand Name Justification: The EATON Valve Plug brand name is essential to the requirement and market research indicates similar products do not meet or cannot be modified to meet agency needs. The Program invested time and research to ensure fit form and function of all components and parts, to include The EATON Valve Plug which is a manufactured consumable replacement part for the Azimuth Drive Module Assembly. The EATON Valve Plugs are required for routine NEXRAD repairable equipment maintenance. Without the EATON Valve Plug, the National Weather Service (NWS) would be unable to meet its Tri-Agency Agreement to provide internal and external stakeholders with spare parts for repair and replacement. The EATON Valve Plugs are currently identified as zero-balance and are paramount to ensuring the NEXRAD system remains full mission-capable. If this requirement is not solicited for the EATON Valve Plug brand name, the mission impact would be significant, as the radar system could become inoperable due to a lack of compatible repair parts. DOC, Eastern Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this office be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM). No award can be made to a company not registered in SAM. Contractors active in SAM have a unique entity identifier (UEI) that is used to do business with the federal government. How to bid on this
This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.
- Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
- Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
- Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
- Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
