QTY: 18 This procurement is a sole source to Galleon Embedded Computing LLC. to acquire 18 G1 USB3 Docking Stations for custom designed MCM RoRo systems. This action will award a firm fixed price contract to Galleon Embedded Computing LLC. for the equipment listed above. The Galleon Embedded Computing LLC. is the OEM for the Spectra Defense Technologies G1-USB3DOCK-AES-003 is a part of a configuration-controlled post-mission analysis system that has been through rigorous testing to be certified to operate on a Navy vessel. As such, they are the only parts certified to operate on a Navy vessel. Using an alternate part would prove costly in time and money. The OEM, Galleon Embedded Computing LLC, does not sell through distribution, therefore they are the sole source for the required part. As such, the Government does not expect significant savings through competition and does expect significant and unacceptable delays that will negatively impact this requirement. Therefore, it is in the Government’s best interest to award on a sole source basis to Galleon Embedded Computing LLC.
