What this contract is for
THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE-SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity (DHACA) in coordination with the The Defense Centers for Public Health - Aberdeen (DCPH-A) and Industrial Hygiene Field Services Division (IHFSD) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with SKC Inc 863 Valley View Road Eighty Four PA 15330 as the only responsible source that can provide SKC personal noise dosimeters and sound level meters to accurately measure noise level hazards. The Government requires the purchase of require the purchase of SKC Inc noise and sound equipment to include personal noise dosimeter, sound level meters, and calibrators. SKC Inc provides a wide range of industrial hygiene sampling equipment that is comparable to TSI/Quest instrument capabilities. This equipment is needed to replace outdated and inoperable equipment in our current inventory. The SKC personal noise dosimeter, sound level meters, and calibrators will be used to investigate and properly conduct noise surveys for the DoW. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document will be posted for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
