What this contract is for

This is a Request for Information (RFI) for market research purposes only. This is not a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to identify sources capable of providing a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (ROWPU) that can purify over 1,2200 gallons of water per hour. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or to pay for the information solicited. The information provided will be used to assess market capabilities and refine future requirements. Description The Product Manager Engineer Systems, Portfolio Acquisition Executive Marine Corps (PAE MC), is conducting market research for potential sources of a ROWPU. This system is intended to replace the legacy Tactical Water Purification System (TWPS). The envisioned ROWPU will be a critical enabler for expeditionary forces, particularly those executing Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations (EABO), where success hinges on mobile, self-sufficient, and logistically light units. By producing potable water at the point of need, the ROWPU directly increases operational tempo while reducing the vulnerability of extended logistical supply lines. The system will be used across the full range of military operations, from combat support to Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief (HA/DR). The ROWPU must address the deficiencies of the legacy system by being more supportable, reliable, and capable. It should be significantly lighter, have lower power requirements, and deliver enhanced performance, particularly in saltwater environments. The Marine Corps anticipates a procurement of 145 ROWPU systems under a potential 5-year Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (...

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
