What this contract is for

This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (NIH-CC) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with the following vendor: Medtronic USA Inc. The CONCERTO COILS come in an array of various diameters, both micro and macro, and deploy into various shapes to conform and constrict the blood vessel. The Embolization and resulting Occlusion of an artery and its management require a specific and comprehensive category of products, solutions and services to enable providing a continuum of care, from patient assessment to stopping a bleed, or embolizing blood flow to ablate a tumor, these products are designed to do the job with little trauma to the vasculature in the surrounding areas/tissue, minimal complications. The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements. How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. Check the set-aside listed above and confirm your business actually qualifies for it before you spend time on a proposal. See our guide to set-asides if the category is unfamiliar.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
