What this contract is for

THIS IS A NOTIFICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 8, hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole-source, firm fixed price contract to Melling LLC, doing business as Melling Medical, 658 S Columbus St, Alexandria, Virginia, 22314, United States. The contract is expected to be awarded IAW RFO FAR 12.102(a) for restricting competition. The VA has determined this brand name only sole source requirement is limited to only one responsible source that can provide the supplies or services at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized. The requirement is for brand name only DAMAE Medical Video Dermoscope to be purchased for use with the existing DAMAE Medical Deep Live device currently in use at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Dermatology at 12210 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL, 33612-4745. All items are brand name only and include one (1) DAMAE Medical Video Dermoscope with AI-assistant (part number: VDAI), including virtual training. The anticipated contract will be a firm fixed price contract with the NAICS Code of 334510 with a small business size standard of 1,250 employees. A Sole Source Justification has been prepared. The requested item is manufactured in France, and a Buy American Act waiver has been obtained from the Made in America Office. The delivery requirement is requested 60 days ARO. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response showing interest to this notice must show clear...

How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
