What this contract is for

The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Special Operation Forces (SOF), Acquisition Technology and Logistics (AT&L), Directorate of Procurement, hereby provides notice of its intent to negotiate & award a sole source contract, under the authority of FAR 6.103-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, for Commercial Satellite Communications (COMSATCOM), which consists of the capabilities available to provide a comprehensive, global, end-to-end COMSATCOM solutions. NAICS: 517410 – Satellite Telecommunications PSC: DG11 IT and Telecom – Network: Satellite Communications and Telecom Access Services This effort will provide an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) which will provide the ability for the USSOCOM to have a robust, flexible, and resilient COMSATCOM infrastructure to support global Special Operations Forces (SOF), which includes connectivity for command-and-control (C2), intelligence dissemination, and operational support between USSOCOM, its components, and deployed units. The required solution encompasses global satellite space segment, commercial media port services, terrestrial backhaul connectivity including interconnections to Satellite as a Service (SaaS) providers, along with comprehensive operational and management support. It also requires continuously available global commercial satellite coverage as well as Media Port uplink and downlink services, and terrestrial connectivity between Media Ports and network USSOCOM SSEP. A Media Port is a commercially owned and operated earth station capable of uplinking and downlinking as identified in this SOW. SSEP is a major network service and control point.
