What this contract is for

1.0 GENERAL THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. IT IS A MARKET RESEARCH TOOL BEING USED TO DETERMINE POTENTIAL AND ELIGIBLE BUSINESSES CAPABLE OF PROVIDING THE SUPPLIES/SERVICES DESCRIBED HEREIN, PRIOR TO DETERMINING THE METHOD OF ACQUISITION AND ISSUANCE OF A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). ALL CAPABLE LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESSES THAT ARE INTERESTED ARE ENCOURAGED TO SEND IN A CAPABILITY PACKAGE. The Presidential Helicopters Program Office (PMA 274) is seeking information from qualified potential prime contractors that specialize in the design, development, and certification of rotary wing cockpits. This notice is being used for the purpose of determining market interest, availability and adequacy of potential business sources prior to establishing the method of acquisition and issuance of a RFP, including the use of any appropriate small business programs. The data received from this RFI will inform Government market research on potential vendors for a Mid-Life Cockpit Upgrade for the VH-92A. Core capabilities required include systems engineering, requirements management, systems architecture, human systems integration, cyber security engineering, software development, Systems Integration Labs, testing and obtain a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airworthiness certification. The VH-92A is a Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft supporting Presidential Lift Missions and is a Public Use aircraft that will maintain a FAA certification throughout the lifecycle of the platform.
