What this contract is for

Notice of Intent to Sole Source FEI Company (Thermo Fisher Scientific) Service Agreement for the Apreo2-C Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope and EDS UltraDry 60M (129 eV). In accordance with Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services,, the Department of Energy (DOE), National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis to FEI Company (Thermo Fisher Scientific) to purchase the Service Agreement for the Apreo2-C Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope and EDS UltraDry 60M (129 eV) to assure satisfactory operation of the existing NETL owned FEI Company (Thermo Fisher Scientific) Apreo2-C Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope and EDS UltraDry 60M (129 eV) instruments. How to bid on this

This is a contract solicitation, not a grant. To bid, you submit a proposal (usually a price and a description of how you would do the work) directly to the government, through the channel the official listing specifies, not through Oppward.

  1. Make sure your business has an active SAM.gov registration. You cannot be paid on a federal contract without one.
  2. Read the full solicitation on the official listing above, especially the scope of work, not just this summary. Our guide to reading a solicitation walks through what to look for.
  3. This listing has no set-aside restriction ("full and open competition"), meaning any business, large or small, can bid.
  4. Submit your proposal by the deadline, using the exact submission method the official listing states. A technically on-time bid sent the wrong way is often treated as late.
