What this contract is for
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey intends to solicit and award a Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to WABTEC INSPECTION TECHNOLOGIES, INC. Division Name- Evident Scientific, Inc. (CAGE: 9DV74) 48 Woerd AVE, Waltham, Massachusetts, 02453 for the purchase of a quantity of one (1) each of the following three hardware items: ULTRASONIC FLAW DETECTOR under Part Number (P/N) EP650EMI-MN01, NSN 6635-016994632; DETECTOR, EDDY CURRENT FLAW, P/N N600EMI-MN01, NSN 4920-016936105; and NDT EDDY CURRENT STANDARDS SET, P/N NRK-3AST, NSN 5280-013521336; in support of Foreign Military Sales for the Government of the Czech Republic in support of the H-1 Program. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements" for this action. Evident Scientific is the original designer, developer and manufacturer of these Non-Destructive Inspection equipment items and is the only source with the requisite knowledge, experience and technical expertise to produce them and the only source with the technical data, facilities and capabilities required to provide the associated air system and sustainment support for our foreign partners. Evident Scientific is the sole manufacturer and holds proprietary rights to drawings. The Government does not have data or drawing rights to permit full and open competition.
